September Energy Forecast: What If Hard Work Is the Thing Keeping You from More Wealth and Freedom?
Written by: Lynn Louise — The Modern Day Oracle

“Success expands when you stop believing harder work is the answer, recognize when the energy has changed, and have the courage to change with it.”
We have been sold a very convincing story about success.
⛔️ Work hard.
⛔️ Push through.
⛔️ Do more than everyone else.
And for many of us, it worked.
That’s actually the problem.
🥂 You sacrificed so today you could have the money, freedom and life you’ve created. Hard work DID help you create success.
It helped you build the business you have today. It was YOU that made the money flow, when nobody was there to holding your hand or to give you a paycheck at the end of the week. Your hard work and determination helped you survive difficult seasons and figure shit out when there wasn’t anyone else coming to do it for you.
You learned how to sell, create, market, serve clients, solve problems and make decisions. And became incredibly resourceful along the way. But your brain collected all of that evidence and came to a very logical conclusion: Hard work works. 😳 Because it did.
Somewhere along the way, you began believing that the road to next level success was simply working harder than before.
But this isn’t true. And THAT is where September gets nitty gritty with transformation.
September Energy Is Setting the Stage for Future Wealth
We enter September within the tail winds of eclipse season. I’m sure things were illuminated that you would rather have both looked at.
Eclipse Season revealed what’s been sitting underneath the surface, sometimes long before we’re ready to do anything about it. And once you’ve seen something, you can’t unsee it.
And here is where we are sitting.
In the illumination of what we want and don’t want.
➡️ Your desires are louder.
➡️ Things that aren’t aligned are heavier.
➡️ Boundaries need to shift.
➡️ Parts of your schedule feel ridiculous.
Take a moment… is there something you’ve been telling yourself you’ll change eventually…
When you make more money?
When you hire someone?
When this launch is over?
When the kids are older?
When things calm down?
When you finally get ahead?
What if the thing keeping you from creating more wealth and freedom isn’t what you’re doing, but what you’ve been taught it takes to achieve them?
September isn’t simply bringing another opportunity of awareness around what you want. This month carries the energy of initiation, independence, regeneration, innovation and new beginnings. In numerology, September falls into the energy of a Universal 1 month, bringing us back to creation and the beginning of a new cycle.
The eclipse has shown you things.
Now September is saying:
What are you going to build from that knowledge?
The Energy Behind Your Wealth
We talk about hustle culture like it’s something to be proud of. We celebrate the entrepreneur bragging about working until 2 a.m. and getting up long before the kids are awake just to squeeze in more work. We’ve been taught to wear hustle like a badge of honor.
Deep down, we know that burnout isn’t something to aspire to. But that programming lives at the core of your subconscious, even long after you’ve consciously rejected it.
This is because your brain is a prediction machine. It is constantly using previous experiences to anticipate what will keep you safe, help you succeed, and prevent you from experiencing pain.
Imagine you’ve spent the last twenty years creating success through effort.
😏 You work more and revenue increases.
😏 You create more content and visibility increases.
😏 You take on another client and income increases.
😏 You push harder during a launch and sales increase.
Again and again, your brain receives the same evidence. More effort creates better outcomes. Eventually, MORE WORK = MORE SUCCESS becomes more than an idea. It becomes a subconscious expectation.
And then something fascinating happens when you decide you want more freedom.
You take Friday afternoon off, but instead of enjoying it, you think about everything you should be doing.
You raise your prices but add more deliverables because charging more without doing more feels uncomfortable.
You create an easier way to accomplish something and question whether it can really be that simple.
You hire someone to take work off your plate and then struggle to stop checking everything they’ve done.
These behaviors aren’t necessarily because you’re terrible at boundaries or secretly enjoy being overwhelmed. It’s simply the way your brain learned to keep you safe. You’ve trained it to believe that productivity is protect you.
It’s just that protection looks different in this case.
Effort produces results.
Work creates money.
Being needed creates value.
And in most cases, slowing down can subconsciously feel like putting everything you’ve created at risk.
So, you can consciously say, “I want more freedom,” while your subconscious programming continues recreating the conditions that keep you busy.
This is why freedom isn’t simply a scheduling problem.
You can’t productivity-hack your way out of a belief system that says your value is connected to how much you produce. 🤯 At some point, you have to change what you believe creates success.
And September gives us an incredible energetic landscape for doing exactly that.
When Wealth Requires Reciprocity
Venus has a strong presence this month, drawing our awareness toward value, relationships, communication, self-respect and reciprocity. Usually when we hear the word reciprocity, we immediately think about our relationships with other people. But I want you to look at your relationship with your business.
➡️ What are you giving it?
➡️ And what is it giving you?
If you’re pouring your time, creativity, knowledge, expertise, emotional energy, evenings, weekends and mental bandwidth into your business, what are you receiving in exchange? Money? Hopefully.
But what about freedom? Spaciousness? Joy?
What about the ability to enjoy the wealth you’re creating?
What about time with the people you love?
What about a LIFE?
Because there is something we don’t talk about nearly enough: A profitable business can still be a terrible investment of your life. Because revenue doesn’t tell us whether the exchange is reciprocal.
Example!
A business making $500,000 a year that consumes nearly every waking hour of its owner’s life may actually create less freedom than a much smaller business intentionally designed around the owner’s life.
This month asks us to examine that exchange.
Not whether everything is perfectly equal.
Whether it is reciprocal.
And that question becomes even more important when we acknowledge how deeply women have been conditioned around giving.
Be helpful.
Be available.
Be accommodating.
Give more than expected.
Make everyone comfortable.
Don’t disappoint anyone.
Don’t ask for too much.
Don’t make it all about money.
Add entrepreneurial hustle culture to generations of conditioning around women’s worth being connected to how much we give and suddenly you have women who left traditional employment because they wanted freedom… only to build businesses where everyone has access to their time except themselves.
We can call it entrepreneurship.
We can call it ambition.
We can call it being passionate about our clients.
💥 But if you’re constantly giving more than you’re receiving, September’s energy around wealth demands you to tell yourself the truth about that exchange.
1️⃣ Where are you overdelivering because you’re afraid what you promised isn’t enough?
2️⃣ Where are clients receiving access to you they aren’t actually paying for?
3️⃣ Where are you adding bonuses because you don’t trust the core offer to stand on its own?
4️⃣ Where are you lowering the price before anyone has even objected?
5️⃣ Where are you answering messages during time you intended to protect?
6️⃣ Where are you spending four hours perfecting something that needed twenty minutes?
7️⃣ Where has something that once felt generous quietly become an obligation?
Because generosity and self-abandonment can look remarkably similar from the outside. The difference is what they cost you. And a business cannot create freedom for you while requiring you to continually abandon yourself to maintain it.
Wealth Has to Exist on Your Calendar Before It Can Materialize into Your Life
The Virgo New Moon arrives on September 10 at 11:27 p.m. EDT, bringing September’s wealth energy back down into the practical terrain of our everyday lives.
Our routines.
Our habits.
Our systems.
Our bodies.
Our calendars.
And I LOVE this part of the month’s energy because we can talk about freedom philosophically all damn day. But eventually freedom has to become tangible. Freedom has to exist on your calendar.
You can tell me freedom is one of your highest values but:
😲 Show me your Tuesday.
😲 Show me how clients access you.
😲 Show me your offers.
😲 Show me how many things you’re personally responsible.
😲 Show me how often you check your phone.
Show me what happens inside your head when you have absolutely nothing you NEED to do. THAT tells us how much freedom you’ve actually built.
And this is where September’s Universal 1 wealth energy becomes especially powerful. Because this isn’t just a month for noticing what isn’t working.
One is initiation.
One is creation.
One is independence.
One is ideas, innovation, insight and the beginning of a new cycle.
So instead of asking how you can squeeze a little more freedom out of the business you’ve already built, September invites you to ask something much more radical:
If freedom were part of my business model from the beginning, what would I build differently?
Maybe you wouldn’t offer five different ways to work with you.
Maybe you wouldn’t take calls five days a week.
Maybe you wouldn’t answer messages whenever they arrived.
Maybe you’d build systems before you desperately needed them.
Maybe you’d make fewer things and market them better.
Maybe you’d stop automatically trying to grow revenue by increasing your labor.
Maybe you’d finally look at something you’ve been doing every single week for three years and ask: Why the hell am I still doing this? That’s innovation too.
Innovation doesn’t always mean inventing something the world has never seen. Sometimes innovation is simply refusing to keep doing something the way you’ve always done it. And this is where September’s themes around sovereignty become incredibly important.
Wealth Refuses to Be Tamed in the Presence of Black Moon Lilith
As Black Moon Lilith moves into Capricorn, we begin a longer journey around authority, ambition, structure and the roles we’ve outgrown.
Lilith represents the part of us that refuses to be tamed. The boundary keeper. The protector of sovereignty. The part of us that knows when something has become incompatible with who we’re becoming.
Capricorn brings that energy into our structures and our relationship with success. Which creates a fascinating question: Whose definition of success are you still obeying?
Most of us were raised to become employees. And long before we ever started a business, we were taught what work was supposed to look like.
⛔ We were taught that more hours meant more commitment.
⛔ That every year you should earn a little more than the year before.
⛔ That empty space in your day meant you weren’t being productive.
⛔ That rest came AFTER the work was finished.
⛔ That making more money required doing more work.
⛔ That the person who worked the hardest deserved to get ahead.
And then we became entrepreneurs…
but brought the rules of employment with us.
We left the job, but we didn’t necessarily leave behind what we had been taught about work, money, productivity and success. So instead of creating businesses around the freedom we wanted, many of us unknowingly recreated employment with ourselves as the boss.
And sometimes, we became the hardest boss we’ve ever worked for.
And yet somewhere, somehow, you may have absorbed those rules.
September gives you an opportunity to question their authority. Because sovereignty isn’t simply being your own boss. Sovereignty is deciding which rules deserve authority over your life.
September Deepens Your Connection to Wealth Through Courage
On September 17 at approximately 9:52 p.m. EDT, Chiron retrogrades back into Aries, deepening this conversation by revisiting themes around courage, self-trust, identity, and leadership.
And this may be one of the most uncomfortable parts of creating freedom. At some point you have to trust yourself enough to stop doing what has already been proven to work. Think about that.
Hard work worked.
Overdelivering worked.
Being available worked.
Saying yes worked.
Doing everything yourself worked.
Pushing through worked.
Those strategies helped get you HERE. And that’s why releasing them can feel so terrifying. But the strategy that creates one chapter of your life isn’t automatically the strategy that creates the next one.
At some point, you have to stop asking: How did I get here?
And start asking: What will get me THERE?
The answers may be completely different.
Wealth Doesn’t Hustle — And It Isn’t Lazy Either
Then, on September 22 at 8:05 p.m. EDT, we arrive at the Autumn Equinox—a powerful threshold of balance as we officially move from summer into fall. Day and night come into balance. And nature gives us one of the most obvious examples of sustainable creation available to us.
Nature isn’t passive.
Nature is incredibly productive.
But nature doesn’t produce at the same intensity all year long.
There is a time for germination.
A time for growth.
A time for harvest.
A time for release.
A time for regeneration.
Nature doesn’t ask one season to perform the job of every other season.
But WE do. We expect ourselves to create, market, sell, serve, innovate, grow, plan and perform at the same intensity every week of every month of every year. And then we’re surprised when our creativity disappears.
A field that is never allowed to regenerate eventually stops producing.
➡️ So does a human.
Your creativity needs space.
Your intuition needs quiet.
Your body needs care.
Your brain needs recovery.
And your business needs periods when you can get far enough away from DOING the work to actually SEE the work.
The Culture Misconception of Rest and Wealth
This is where our cultural relationship with rest needs to change.
Rest isn’t necessarily quitting for a week and doing absolutely nothing.
💫 Sometimes it’s going for a walk without listening to a podcast.
💫 Sometimes it’s creating space between meetings.
💫 Sometimes it’s sitting with a problem instead of immediately trying to solve it.
💫 Sometimes it’s finishing work instead of looking for more.
Rest can be reflection. And it can be integration.
It can be allowing your brain enough quiet to make connections it couldn’t make while you were constantly consuming and producing.
In a sustainable system, regeneration is part of production. Nature figured this shit out long before we invented Google Calendar. 😂
Don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean hard work is bad. I don’t believe that at all.
There will be seasons when creating something extraordinary requires enormous effort. There will be launches when you work more. And opportunities that require you to temporarily rearrange your life. There will even be problems that need your full attention.
The problem begins when temporary hustle becomes permanent structure. And working hard stops being something you consciously choose and becomes the only way you know how to create. That isn’t freedom.
Freedom is having the ability to choose when your effort is worth the exchange.
And THAT may be one of September’s greatest invitations.
So, as we move toward the end of the month, and the energy begins pulling us into deeper emotional terrain. Patterns will resurface. Conversations will carry more weight. Intuition will sharpen. Dynamics we’ve been able to ignore may become increasingly difficult to overlook.
➡️➡️➡️ Don’t immediately try to fix all of it.
Notice what irritates, drains, or creates resentment—and what makes you feel incredibly alive. Pay attention to what you keep wishing would change, where you feel obligated, and where you’re acting from genuine choice versus the belief that you’re not allowed to stop. Most importantly, notice what your business is reflecting back to you about how you value your own time.
Because our businesses are relationships too. They reflect our standards.
Our boundaries.
Our beliefs about money.
Our beliefs about receiving.
Our relationship with time.
Our willingness to trust ourselves.
And ultimately, our beliefs about what we deserve.
September may be showing you the dynamics that become impossible to ignore as we move into October. So, pay attention.
Take This Into Your Journal 💫
1. Where in my business am I giving more time, energy, or access than what I’m receiving in return and what is that costing me beyond money?
2. If I stopped measuring my value by how much I accomplish, what would I immediately change about the way I create wealth?
3. If I truly believed more wealth didn’t require more of my time, what would I build, eliminate, automate, delegate, or do differently next?
You Already Know How to Work Hard.
You don’t need another productivity hack teaching you how to squeeze more into your day. You need a business structure that stops requiring more of YOU every time you want more success.
That’s exactly why I created my FREE 3-part audio series, Creating Structured Freedom.
In three short conversations, we explore the brain science that keeps you repeating familiar patterns, the cosmic wisdom that helps you recognize when it’s time to move differently, and the practical structure that turns those realizations into more time, more wealth, and more freedom.

Because the goal was never to become incredibly successful at working all the time. The goal was to become wealthy enough — in money, time, and choice to actually live.
